Chateau d'Asnieres

Completed in 1752, for Marc-René de Voyer d'Argenson (1722-1782), Marquis de Voyer, a noted collector of art and an important military figure in 18th century France. It was in part inspired by the Grand Trianon and itself was the direct inspiration for The Elms at Newport. Situated near Paris, today it serves as a museum.
