Albert R. Shattuck, of New York City & Lenox, Massachusetts
Having made his fortune as a banker in New Orleans, he came to live in New York City. He bought The Mount from the celebrated Pulitzer Prize-winning autheor, Edith Wharton. He was the uncle of the noted architect F. Burrall Hoffman Jr.
