Ebenezer Stevens (1751-1823)

Major-General Ebenezer Stevens; Merchant, of New York City & Astoria

He was born at Roxbury, Massachusetts, and served as a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Continental Army during the American Revolution having participated in the Boston Tea Party. Afterwards, he went into business in New York City as a fleet owner and liquor importer while serving as a Major-General in the New York State Militia. He lived between New York City and "The Mount" at Astoria, New York. He was married twice and had ten children (listed) who lived to adulthood.
