Edward Bromfield (1695-1756)

Merchant of Boston & Member of the Governor's Council of Massachusetts

He was born in Boston where his father (the son and grandson of two Members of Parliament) came as a merchant in 1675 and became a Member of the Governor's Council. He was also a merchant and built his house that is today nearly opposite where the Athenaeum Club now stands on Beacon Street. In 1723, he married Abigail, daughter of John Coney and they had seven children (listed above).
