She sold her half of the Vanderbilt Triple Palace for $3.5-million in 1926 and by doing so sealed its fate. Afterwards, she and her second husband divided their time between 854 Fifth Avenue in New York; 2139 R Street, Washington D.C.; and, "Elm Court" at Lenox in the Berkshires that claimed to have "the finest gardens in New England".
