While at the Warburg, she married Nick Welch and among the guests at their wedding was the Samuels' family friend, Andy Warhol. Back then, the Welchs top floor loft on Prince Street in New York's SoHo was accessed by a lift and entered via, "a cavernous room with exposed brick walls and a Harley-Davidson artfully positioned as a centrepiece". Evelyn is now the Vice-President of Arts and Sciences at King's College, London, and the mother of Florence Welch, the lead singer of the band "Florence and the Machine".
