George Norton Miller (1857-1935)

Dr G.N. Miller, of Rhinebeck, New York; President of the New York Medical School

He grew up in New York City before entering Harvard and graduating with a literary degree (A.B., 1879) and afterwards in medicine (M.D., 1882). He then travelled to Europe and spent a further two years studying in the medical schools of Vienna and Heidelberg. He returned to New York and was married in 1886, at which time his uncle William gifted them The Grove and from then on it remained their permanent residence. He was killed in old age as a result of an automobile accident.
