Henry Beekman Livingston (1854-1931)

He was born at 18 Washington Square North, New York City. He was educated at both Yale and Christ Church, Oxford, in England. Returning to the States, he became a stockbroker and was a member of the Stock Exchange in New York for 40-years. He was included among Mrs Astor's "400" and among others was a member of the Union Club, Knickerbocker Club and Metropolitan Club. He hunted as well as playing racquets and tennis. He lived between 63 East 82nd Street in New York City and his country home at Islip on Long Island. He was married twice and had four daughters, three of whom survived him. His first wife was a grand-daughter of Henry Walter Livingston. Their only child was born in Dieppe, France. After she died, he was married again in 1881 at 6 Washington Square North to Frances Redmond and they had three daughters, one of whom married and became Mrs Henry Bowly Hollins Jr. He died at 47 East 64th Street.
