Henry Vincent Higgins (1855-1928)

"Harry" V. Higgins, C.V.O., Director of the Covent Garden Opera House, London

He was commissioned into the 1st Life Guards (he was six-foot-three-inches tall - five inches smaller than his father!) before becoming a solicitor in the firm of Treherne, Higgins & Co., London. He was best known as the Managing Director of the Covent Garden Opera House. His first wife, Lady Hilda Finch-Hatton, was a first cousin of the 14th Earl of Winchelsea who married Margaretta Drexel of Philadelphia. The Higgins' lived at 1 Upper Berkeley Street in London's Mayfair.
