Howel John James Price (1857-1943)
Major Howel J.J. Price, J.P., D.L., of Glynllech & Greensted Hall, Essex
He was the only son of his parents by his father's second wife and was born at Glynllech, Breconshire. He was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge (1881), and was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in 1888. In 1885, he married Mary Catherine (d.1902), only daughter of William Smith of Greensted House, Essex. In 1904, he married Dora Mary, daughter of Robert Gosling of Hassobury Manor, Essex. He was a member of the Essex Foxhounds and served as a Major in the Royal Army Service Corps. He lived at Greensted Hall near Ongar, Essex and was the father of four daughters.
