Col. James Otis (1836-1898)
of 22 East 10th Street, NYC; Commissions Broker & Member of the New York Senate
His country house where his youngest daughter was married in 1893 was "Nearthebay" at Bellport on Long Island. He was a first cousin through his mother's family of the Gilded Age architect George B. Post. He and his wife had three children (listed) who survived to adulthood.
