John Lawrence Smith (1816-1889)
of Smithtown, Long Island; Judge & Member of the New York State Assembly
His wife was a niece of Cornelia (Clinch) Stewart, the wife of A.T. Stewart, the owner of New York's first department store. His son, James, died on the Titanic and his daughter, Elizabeth, was the wife of the architect Stanford White.
