Jonathan Meredith (1784-1872)

He was born at Philadelphia, the younger brother of William Tuckey Meredith, President of Schuykill Bank. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and in 1805 was admitted to the Philadelphia Bar. He settled in Baltimore where he married Hannah, daughter of Dr Moses Haslett. They had seven children including Louisa, the wife of Gardiner Greene Howland, Co-Founder of Pacific Mail Steamship Co.
