Joseph Harbin (c.1636-1692)
Joseph Harbin, Merchant & Planter, of St. Michael's, Barbados
He was a native of Saint Lawrence Pountney, London. He was later described as a successful Quaker merchant at Barbados with plantations both there and in South Carolina. Interestingly, his son John (also a Quaker merchant) was captured on the Mediterranean Sea by the Corsairs (Barbary Pirates) and enslaved for life at Morocco.
