The charismatic Lloyd Aspinwall succeeded his father as President of Howland & Aspinwall. During the Civil War, he served as the aide-de-camp to General Ambrose Burnside at the Battle of Fredericksburg and just prior to his premature death he co-founded and was elected the first President of the Jekyll Island Club. In 1856, he married his wife, Harriette DeWolf of Bristol, and he was the father of three children.
