Louis-Joseph Forget (1853-1911)
Senator, Stockbroker & President of the Montreal Stock Exchange
His brokerage firm was the largest in Montreal and it became known as Forget & Forget after he took on his controversial but talented nephew, Sir Rodolphe Forget, as a partner. He was also President of the Montreal Street Railway Company; owner of La Presse; owner of the Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company; a director of Canadian Pacific Railway; director of the Montreal Heat, Light and Power Company; and, a co-founder of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. He had a son, Raymond, who died aged four and four daughters, three of whom (listed) married. He died in France while staying at Cimiez near Nice for his health.
