Magdalen (McGillivray) Brackenbury (1808-1888)

She was born at Montreal and was the god-daughter of Sir Isaac Brock and Mrs Julia Henry. She married her husband, Vice-Admiral Brackenbury, in 1842 and they lived in Cadiz in Portugal where he was British Consul. When her father died, she inherited £10,000 and half his lands in Scotland. She was the mother of five children.
