Samuel Ballard (1719-1793)

Samuel Ballard, Silversmith, of Common St., Boston, Massachusetts

He was a silversmith and lived on Common Street (now Tremont Street), "between Mr Cole's and Mr Swan's houses, being the third house from Winter Street and corner of Turnagain Lane, now Temple Place". In 1741, he married Elizabeth Pickering and eight months after her death in 1763 he married the widowed Mrs Fear (Freeman) Sears, bringing up her son, David Sears.
