Thomas Dorsett Birchall (1769-1836)

Lt.-Commander Thomas Dorsett Birchall, R.N., of Wickham, Hampshire

He was closely related to - possibly even a twin brother of - Captain William Birchall (1769-1817) R.N. who married Leonora, daughter of Richard Bingham of Bingham's Melcombe, Dorset, sister of Col. Charles Cox Bingham who married Thomas' wife's sister. The Captain (one of Nelson's Band of Brothers and whose monument at Exeter was destroyed during the Blitz in 1942) had no children but was said to be the uncle of Lt. Thomas William Birchall (1779-1805) R.N., who died at Weston.
