Thomas McKean (1842-1898)
Thomas McKean, of Philadelphia & "Fernhill" Germantown, Pennsylvania
He was born at Philadelphia and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (1862). He was a director of the Insurance Company of North America and the Fidelity Insurance Trust and Safe Deposit Company. In 1863, he married Elizabeth, daughter of George Mifflin Wharton. They lived between 1925 Walnut Street in Philadelphia and their country estate, Fernhill. They were the parents of five children.
