William Dummer Jarvis (1834-1914)
Lt.-Colonel William D. Jarvis, N.W.M.P., of the 12th York Rangers
He was commissioned into the 12th York Rangers and was later attached to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. His wife was the daughter of William Parker Ranney (1794-1843), of Topsham, Devon, who had been in the service of the East India Company. They were the parents of three sons.
