Chateau du Plessis-Bouquelon

Chateau du Plessis-Bouquelon, Pont-Audemer, L'Eure, Normandy

Built at the beginning of the 16th century, it was gradually enlarged over the next few hundred years most recently when a funeral chapel was added in 1844 for Charles-Henri Lebœuf (1799-1862), Comte d'Osmoy, who grew up at the Chateau d'Osmoy. In 1899, it was the home of Charles' grandson, Romain (1863-1920), Vicomte d'Osmoy, when he married the American heiress, Susan Dresser, whose brother was unable to get to France so she was given away by her brother-in-law, George Vanderbilt
