Red House

Red House Lane, Bexleyheath, London

Completed in 1860, for the leading designer of the Arts & Craft movement, William Morris (1834-1896), in conjunction with architect Philip Webb (1831-1915). The eclectic exterior of the house helped to inspire Beauport in Massachusetts. It remained a private home until 2002 when it was purchased by the National Trust who maintain it as a house museum.
