Hugh Thompson Dickey (1811-1892)

He was born in New York City and was educated at Columbia University, graduating in the same class as Hamilton Fish. He was both a lawyer and an astute businessman. He became a Judge and was also a director of the Chicago & Galena Railroad and the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad. On retiring circa 1875, he returned to his native New York City. He died at his home, 473 Fifth Avenue, and summered at Riviera in Newport. He was survived by his widow and daughter.
