Lewis Howard Livingston (1814-1886)
Lewis H. Livingston, of Grasmere, New York
He was named for his maternal grandfather, Morgan Lewis, 4th Governor of New York who lived at Staatsburgh Mansion. He kept a townhouse since marriage at 5 University Place, New York, but called himself a farmer. He was also one of the incorporators and the first President of the Rhinebeck Savings Bank. He was "widely esteemed for his benevolence and other qualities of mind and heart". He was married to Julia Boggs on January 18, 1843, and died at Grasmere, which was left to his second son.
