Mary (Rhinelander) Newbold (1826-1897)

She was born in New York. Her father died when she was ten and her mother raised her and her sister (the mother of Edith Wharton) between 12 West 28th Street and her maternal grandfather's (General Stevens') home, The Mount, in Astoria, New York. She and her husband were the parents of four children.
