David Lambert (1739-1815)

He was born at Wilton, Connecticut. He was educated at Yale University (1761) during which time he was a frequent visitor to East Farms, the home of his uncle Jesse Lambert and he remained particularly close to their family for life. After graduating from Yale, he returned to Wilton, Connecticut, where he was described as a "gentleman farmer". In 1769, he married Susannah Rogers, sister of Moses Rogers, of 7 State Street, New York City, and of Esther Rogers, the wife of Archibald Gracie who built the Gracie Mansion on Manhattan. They were the parents of nine children, of whom six survived to adulthood (listed above).
