George Eastman (1854-1932)
Founder of the Eastman Kodak Company, of Rochester, New York
He never married and gave away over $100-million to charity during his lifetime. In 1918, he came in at 23rd (tied with James B. Duke, Jacob Schiff, Pierre S. Du Pont II, Louis Swift, Julius Rosenwald, Mrs. Lawrence Lewis and Henry Phipps) on the first ever Forbes Rich List with an estimated personal fortune of $50-million.
