Adolph George Rosengarten (1870-1946)
Adolph G. Rosengarten Sr., of Rosengarten & Sons, Philadelphia
He was named for his distinguished uncle, Major Adolph G. Rosengarten, who was killed leading a cavalry charge during the Civil War. He was President of the family chemical manufacturing business, the Powers, Weightman & Rosengarten Co., and subsequently a director of Merck & Co., when the companies merged in 1927.
