Edward Manigault (1817-1874)
Maj. Edward Manigault, Confederate Commander of the "Siege Train" Artillery Unit
He was born at Charleston, South Carolina, He served as a Major in the Mexican War and held the same rank in the Civil War with the Confederate Army. He very nearly died when he was thrown from his horse and was taken prisoner in February, 1865.
