Ludlow Thomas (d.1894)

He was born at Baltimore, Maryland, and was educated at Columbia College, New York. He began his business career with William B. Bond & Co. before joining his brother-in-law's importing firm, S.T. Jones & Co. In 1858, he purchased a seat on the New York Stock Exchange in which position he remained until his death. For more than 25-years he was a Vestryman of Christ Church, Brooklyn. In 1857, he married Mary, daughter of Samuel Thompson, of Brooklyn, owner of the "Black Star" Line of Packets to Liverpool. They were the parents of one daughter (listed). He died following a fall that severely injured his spine at Glengariff, Co. Cork, and he was buried in London.
