"Madam Dwight" Mrs Rhoda (Edwards) Dwight

She was described by her descendant, Benjamin Woodbridge Dwight: "Madam Dwight (as she was universally known) was a wonder and a joy to all who knew her, for intellectual power and brightness, to the end of her very long life, and was held in veneration by the admiring people of Northampton, and by a multitude without that historic town". She married State Treasurer Josiah Dwight and by him had fifteen children (including a set of triplets born in 1806 and a pair of twins - died young - born in 1811) of whom nine (listed) survived to adulthood.
