Sir Charles David Seligman (1869-1954)

of 17 Kensington Palace Gardens, London; Banker, of Seligman Brothers

He was born in London and was educated at Harrow and Trinity Hall, Cambridge (1890). He became a Senior Partner in Seligman Brothers, Bankers, of London. He was Chairman of the National Discount Company and a director of the Commercial Union Assurance Company. He was a member of the Overseas Development Council of the Board of Trade (1933-39) and was the Honorary Consul-General for Austria in London (1931-38). In 1899, he married Eva, daughter of Henry Benjamin Merton and granddaughter of Sir Henry Lewis Raphael, Senior Partner of R. Raphael & Sons, Bankers.
