William Beach Lawrence (1800-1881)

His wife grew up at the Gracie Mansion in New York. He purchased a 60-acre farm at Newport that he named "Ochre Point" Farm on which many of the grandest Gilded Age mansions were built after his death, eg. Vinland and Edgewater which was replaced by Ochre Court.
