DeLancey Barclay (1780-1826)

Col. DeLancey Barclay C.B., of the Grenadier Guards; fought at Waterloo

He was awarded the C.B. for his conduct during the Battle of Waterloo. In 1825, he married Mrs Mary (Fairfield) Barclay, widow of Gurney Barclay of the Barlcays of Ury. After Colonel Barclay died, she remarried the Rev. Dr Steuart, Dean of Windsor. She was still alive in 1868 and living on Berkeley Square in London when her grand-nephew, George Lockhart Rives, visited her from New York.
