Dominick Lynch (1754-1825)

of Lynch & Stoughton, Wine Merchants, New York City

He was a native of Dublin and came to New York via London and the Netherlands. He and his wife were among some three hundred people invited to attend George Washington's inauguration ball in 1789. He purchased a large estate at Throgg's Point in Westchester County and later built a large stone house there in the Flemish style that he called "Lynchville". He represented Oneida County in the New York legislature for a number of years and later became a judge.
