George Henry Warren (1855-1943)

He graduated in law from Columbia University but purchased a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, going into partnership with Thomas Fortune Ryan in the firm of Lee, Ryan & Warren. He later went into real estate and founded the Metropolitan Opera and Real Estate Company that owned the Metropolitan Opera when located at 1411 Broadway. He was on the board of the United New Jersey Railroad & Canal Company and the Metropolitan Trust Company. They lived between 924 Fifth Avenue in New York and their summer home at Newport, Seafield.
