George Muirson Woolsey (1871-1937)

Stockbroker of H.N. Whitney & Sons, New York City & President of the A.S.P.C.A.

He was born in New York and graduated from Columbia University School of Mines (1894). He was elected the 56th President of the St. Nicholas Society of New York and President of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. During World War I, he was Assistant to the Chairman of the American Red Cross. He lived between New York City and Old Westbury, Long Island. He married twice but was not survived by any children. His first wife was a daughter of the famous architect Richard Morris Hunt. His widow was Charlotte Throop Boardman.
