In 1845, she was married in Florence, Italy, to Lt-General Sir Henry William Stisted, 1st Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario. They were the parents of one daughter, Georgina, who wrote a history of her celebrated uncle, Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton.
