Philip Lydig (b.1723)

Grain Merchant & Baker, of New York City

He was born at Schwab Hall in Germany and emigrated to Philadelphia in 1750 where he established himself as a grain merchant. Ten years later (1760), he moved with his family to New York City where he supplied ships with sea biscuit. It is unclear who he married but he was the father of two surviving children.
