John Laird Busk (1871-1922)

He was born in New York though to an English family - his grandparents lived at Ascot Place. His wife was also from New York but they moved to England and took a 21-year lease of The Grange in Westerham in 1917. He died in 1922, but his widow continued to live at The Grange until her death in 1936. In 1923, John's sister, Margaret, paid for electric lighting to be installed in St. Mary’s Church in his memory.
