Martin Van Buren (1701-1741)
Marten Pieterse Van Buren, of Albany, then Kinderhook, New York
He was born at Albany, New York. Sometime later he came to Kinderhook where according to tradition he purchased the 50-acres of land on which Lindenwald was built - made famous as the home of his grandson and namesake, Martin Van Buren (1782-1862), 8th President of the United States.
