Ted Morgan (b.1932)

"Ted Morgan" Sanche Charles Armand Gabriel, Comte de Gramont; Writer

He was the nephew of the 12th Duc de Gramont and his mother was one of the leading figures in the aristocratic bohemian set of Paris during the 1920s. He settled in the States and rejecting his French lineage he changed his name to Ted Morgan (an anagram of "de Gramont"). He wrote biographies on Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill among others and won the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting when he published his memoirs of the war in Algeria.
