Thomas Freame (1701-1746)

Thomas Freame, of the "Manor of Freame" Pennsylvania

He was the nephew of John Freame, co-founder of Barclays Bank. His daughter, Viscountess Cremorne, was Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Charlotte. In 1727, he married a daughter of William Penn and in 1733 was granted a 10,000-acre estate in Pennsylvania, the Manor of Freame. The following year (1734) they went out to Philadelphia to manage his property, where their only child was born, before returning to England in 1741 where he died five years later.
